You knew you were at a Disney event as soon as you walked in the door! Monsters University "students" were already hanging out at all the tables!
After pastries and a delicious breakfast, these led us right in to Gary Buchanan's presentation of Disney's Monstrous Summer Celebration. Gary works in PR/Social Media for Disney and he certainly had us all laughing as he started the conference explaining to us how he got the Twitter handle of Gary_Jerry; he is a hoot and a half! We were even trending nationwide once he got on stage!
He then had a slide presentation of the upcoming events that are part of Disney's Monstrous Summer! If you can make it down to Walt Disney World this summer, you won't be sorry! Fun times!
After Gary, we got in to the "meat" of the conference and Maria Bailey from MomTalkRadio had us laughing and I know in my case, relating to having older kids in the household. I found myself nodding my head to just about everything she said!
Maria introduced Jennifer Labit who is founder of cottonbabies; her soft tone and powerful message had everyone's attention and she had so much to say, we all just wanted to tweet every word! Here are a few of mine:

Creators win when you keep creating!Next up was Mompreneur Panel made up of Frederique (Fred) Irwin of Her Corner, Anastasia Dellaccio of Dolci Gelati, and Christina Daves of Medi Fashions. This was a question and answer session that was unique to each individual and I was very impressed by each of their accomplishments as women in the business world!
The last segment was a presentation from Michelle Stepney, public relations content director for Walt Disney World. She gave us very practical tips on how to prepare for interacting with the media: “Preparing for your close up!” She is so down to earth and had a great slide presentation on what to say and how to say it, all the while keeping it professional!
Maria Bailey then gave away a few more prizes that were left as well as to those listening to the live broadcast on @MomTVOnline. At this point, the conference was coming to a close and Maria thanked us for coming out in the rough weather but honestly, that is not enough to stop us from attending this wonderful event! I said it before and I will say it again, Walt Disney would have been proud for how his company reaches out beyond the parks to share magic and inspiration!
